About the Arts & Culture 4 Health Project

The Arts & Culture 4 Health project was an ambitious and exciting program designed to reflect Auburn’s rich heritage of culture, tradition, belief and art in the new hospital building.

Research shows that art, in all its forms, can contribute positively to the development of a healing environment, so we wanted our new hospital to reflect the amazing diversity and richness of our local community.

The Arts & Culture 4 Health Project was an initiative of the health service to enhance the design of the new facilities and provide an opportunity for the wider community to be partners in the redevelopment of Auburn Health Services.

Arts & Culture 4 Health was developed by Health and Arts Research Centre, Inc and was coordinated by Marily Cintra from Placemaking.

Many of the artworks are on view in public areas of the hospital.
